Kathleen & Ben Otto are a dynamic duo in the Lake Norman area of Charlotte, NC. Together they are the magic behind Empire Tiling.

With Kathleen’s expertise in customer service, client relations and project management, she loves working directly with clients from start to finish. She helps procure all of the materials to ensure each project is ready to start on-time, and manages the process throughout with constant communication with the client.

Ben does all of the dirty work, as we say. It’s his expert skill and education, that has helped propel Empire Tiling as an industry leader within just a few years of being in the Charlotte area. Ben earned his framing and tiling degrees and apprenticeships in Frankfurt, Germany. A native of Germany, Ben also owned a tiling and remodeling business there for 10 years before being brought here by an international company based in Charlotte. This is where he specialized in a specific type of tile work called vibration floor. After working and traveling the US doing this style of tile installation for Aldi, BMW, and Mercedes, Ben and Kathleen decided to open Empire Tiling together in October 2020.
